Boyd Gaming Invites Southern Nevada Charities to Participate in Annual ‘Trees of Hope’ Competition

LAS VEGASBoyd Gaming today announced an invitation for Southern Nevada nonprofit organizations to apply for a chance to take part in one of Las Vegas’ most cherished holiday traditions, the annual “Trees of Hope” Competition.

For the 11th year, the Company is returning the annual tradition to its roots, with local nonprofits invited to decorate 6-foot trees at Boyd Gaming properties across the Las Vegas Valley. A total of 38 local charities will be chosen to participate in this year’s competition.

Boyd Gaming has donated more than $400,000 to Southern Nevada nonprofits over the past decade through Trees and Wreaths of Hope, making the contest one of its most anticipated holiday giving programs. This year, nearly $70,000 in prize money is up for grabs. Each property will award grand prizes to the top three charities, with all participants receiving at least $1,000. A social media contest will give three additional nonprofits a chance to win extra cash prizes.

Applicants must represent a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Southern Nevada community. When submitting an entry, they must include proof of tax-exempt status, such as a Form W-9 or IRS determination letter, along with a description of the charity.

Charities can submit an entry via email to TreesofHopeLV@boydgaming.com by Friday, October 10. Selected nonprofits will receive an invitation to join Trees of Hope in late October.
