The Largest Selfie on Earth – See Your Face on ‘The Giant’ a 40-Metre-Tall Statue

The UK launch of The Giant will take place at IAAPA Expo Europe next week, and is set to be one of the most exciting visitor attraction concepts of the 21s​t​ century.

Standing over 10 stories tall, The Giant’s arms and head can move, and its patented skin - a matrix of millions of LED pixels - instantly takes the form of any person, including historical figures such as Albert Einstein and Amelia Earhart to stars of today from Lionel Messi to Beyoncé. Visitors will be scanned inside the exhibition space and uploaded onto the giant statue resulting in the world’s most spectacular selfie.

The team from The Giant will be showcasing its capabilities on a two-metre model at IAAPA Expo Europe next week. IAAPA Expo Europe takes place between September 12th -15th and will be jam-packed with the latest tech and innovation from businesses, services, and suppliers across the globe, all responsible for creating magically memorable experiences at visitor attractions worldwide.

The event is the flagship European trade show of The Global Association for the Attractions Industry, with the UK representing the largest membership in EMEA. IAAPA is set to deliver one of the most dynamic Expos yet, with thousands of UK and international leisure industry professionals from around 90 different countries able to network with colleagues, explore the latest developments, discover new products and services, and expand their knowledge with the help and support of industry experts.

The Giant will be the world’s tallest moving sculpture. Visitors can scale the 40-metre-high (minimum) statue and ‘stand on the shoulders of a giant’.  Inside the exhibition space, visitors engage with The Giant Experience, an immersive journey into the world of giants from the realms of legend and mythology to a celebration of the extraordinary men and women of today.

The most spectacular feature of The Giant is its skin, using state of the art patented LED and scanning technology, The Giant can display any person – including visitors - who can be scanned and revealed on the sculpture creating the largest selfie on earth.

Next week at IAAPA Expo Europe The Giant team will unveil ground-breaking new features including a new volumetric scanning system with bespoke software that can instantly create still and moving scans and map these onto The Giant head. The scans can be transported into a diversity of augmented and virtual reality settings and created as NFTs. These new technologies give The Giant the ability to traverse real and virtual environments and provide visitors with a journey to the metaverse.
