AGEM releases June 2020 Index

The AGEM Index increased by 4.53 points in June 2020 to 407.41 points, a 1.1 percent gain from May 2020. Six of the 13 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases amid ongoing uncertainty about the global economy and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unions sue three Nevada casino properties, claiming dangerous working conditions

June 29 (Reuters) - Unions representing 60,000 hospitality workers in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada, are suing three casino properties based on allegations of dangerous working conditions.

The Culinary Workers Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165 filed the lawsuit on Monday against Harrah’s Las Vegas, owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp, and the Bellagio and Signature Condominiums, both subsidiaries of MGM Resorts International.

Ministers have been urged to respond positively to all the steps taken by casinos to ensure they can re-open their doors safely in July.

Betting and Gaming Council chief executive Michael Dugher said it was clear the venues had “pulled out all the stops” after visiting Rialto Casino in the heart of London.
