Nevada casinos won $743 million in August, a decline of 22% over August 2019 but an improvement percentage wise from June and July, according to numbers released Wednesday by the Gaming Control Board.
Nevada’s casinos won $756.7 million in July, a 26.1% decrease from the $1.02 billion won in July 2019.
That was a gain over June when the casino reopened June 4th. Nevada’s casinos won $566.8 million in June, a 45.5% decrease over June 2019.
The August casino win fell 25% in Clark County in August, an improvement from the 28.8% in July. Clark County won $593.9 million in August, down from $792.6 in August 2019. Clark County casinos won $612.8 million in July, which is traditionally a better month than August.
The Las Vegas Strip continued to take a hit by falling 39.1%, the same percentage decline as July.
Downtown was down 21.5%. It fell 20.6% in July.
The balance of Clark County, which includes many local casinos increased 1.6% from $102.9 million in August 2019 to $104.6 million in August 2020.
The Boulder Strip rose 29.6% in August.
Statewide table and counter game revenue fell 35.8% in August. Slot revenue fell 14.8%.
Racebook win was $2.7 million but fell 13% over August 2019. Sportsbook win was $14.5 million, a decline of 10.7% over August 2019 when there were preseason NFL games.
