Macau Government attribute 28,000 tourist arrivals down to three-day Macau Grand Prix

The Macau SAR has reported 28,000 tourist arrivals on November 20 – the first day of the Grand Prix – the highest daily record over the past nine months.

The Macao Government Tourism Office attributed the increase to a series of events it organised to complement the three-day Macau Grand Prix in this period as part of its Tour Macao Carnival initiative, including the Macau Food Festival and the Winter Carnival.

Since applications for individual tourism visa permits for the hole of China restarted on September 23, there has been a gradual increase in visitor arrivals to Macau.

Recently, MGTO Director, Maria Helena Senna Fernandes, indicated that over 600,000 visitor arrivals had been reported in October, with some 20,000 to 24,000 visitors a day on average.
