Letter from NHS to gambling companies - GambleAware comment

Marc Etches, CEO of GambleAware has said:

“Gambling disorder is recognised by the World Health Organisation as an addictive behaviour with implications for mental health. As a result, it is essential that every effort is made to protect those who may be at risk of experiencing gambling harms.

Through our work on the National Gambling Treatment Service and the safer gambling campaign ‘Bet Regret’ targeting sports bettors, we are working hard to ensure people know about the risks of gambling and where to get help should they need it Anyone who chooses to gamble should be able to do so in a safe environment, where the risks and available support options are made crystal clear.

If you need help please call the National Gambling Helpline on 0800 8020 133 or visit BeGambleAware.org.
