The gambling support charity GamCare is delighted to announce the appointment of Alexa Roseblade as its new Chief of Staff, who will be starting the position immediately.
In a new role for the organisation, Alexa will form a core part of GamCare’s Leadership Team, working across the charity to champion its organisational priorities and mission and to oversee the charity’s annual governance programme and operational delivery, processes and ways of working. Alexa will also support the development of strong relationships and partnerships that further GamCare’s work to support everyone affected by gambling harm.
Alexa takes up the role following four successful years managing GamCare’ Children and Young People’s Team, including its dedicated Young People’s Service and the Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme (YPGHPP). Since April 2020 under Alexa’s leadership, the YPGHPP has been a highly effective programme, working in close partnership with regional support providers, delivering workshops to 133,000 young people and 28,000 professionals, and offering a range of high-quality support services, participation and digital information.
Prior to her time at GamCare, Alexa held numerous roles with Cancer Research UK, including supporting the charity’s international operations, strategy and philanthropic arm.
The news also comes following the appointment of a new Director of Clinical Operators at GamCare, Tim Hodgetts, who will be joining the charity in August 2024.
Margot Daly, Executive Chair at GamCare, comments: “I am delighted to welcome Alexa as our new Chief of Staff, following on from her important work in our Children and Young People’s services and helping develop GamCare into the charity it is today. I look forward to Alexa’s expertise in supporting GamCare’s Board - and our leadership team - to continue delivering towards our mission of reducing gambling harms in the UK.”
Alexa Roseblade, Chief of Staff at GamCare, comments: “In my four years at GamCare I have seen the vital work our dedicated staff deliver for those who need our support. Not just through our Helpline and Treatment services, but our many impactful prevention and education programmes. I’m looking forward to working closely with GamCare’s staff and Board to support the charity as we enter a new chapter for gambling support services in the UK.
GamCare operates the National Gambling Helpline – available 24/7 - for people to call for free practical advice, information and support around gambling. The charity also provides free treatment sessions across London, the South East, Yorkshire, the East Midlands and Scotland as part of the National Gambling Support Network.
GamCare also delivers a broad range of impactful prevention programmes, including the Women’s Programme, Criminal Justice Programme, and Money Guidance Service. Since April 2020, GamCare has led the Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme (YPGHPP) alongside five partner organisations.
