The Star Sydney, one of Australia’s leading hospitality and entertainment precincts, today announced its luxury hotel, The Darling, has once again received Forbes Travel Guide’s Five Star rating.
The award marks the fifth year in a row The Darling Sydney has received Forbes’ highest accolade.
Christina Lambert, Director of Hotels at The Star Sydney, said as the only New South Wales-based hotel, and just one of three across Australia to achieve the coveted Five-Star rating, the team at The Darling Sydney was delighted to be acknowledged alongside the best hotels in the world.
“Winning this prestigious award once was a thrill – achieving such an accolade five years in a row is a tremendous honour and a true testament to our commitment to guest service excellence,” said Ms Lambert.

The Darling Spa has also been awarded a prestigious Forbes four-star rating positioning it among the world’s best facilities.
With 11 luxurious treatment rooms including two exclusive couples’ suites and a Moroccan Hammam chamber, The Darling Spa is Sydney’s ultimate urban escape that takes pampering to new heights. The Darling Spa facilities also include a steam room, saltwater Jacuzzi and a gym for an all-encompassing experience.
To ensure it remains Sydney’s benchmark for luxury, service, and comfort, The Darling plans to invest $25 million to refurbish hotel offerings and further enhance the guest experience
Having commenced work in 2020, the investment will deliver new in-room technology including a guest-centric tablet that provides allows full room functionality including dining menus, lighting and self-check-out; specially designed sensory lighting that creates a warm and welcoming arrival experience and a re-imagining of the mini-bar experience into a hidden gem that’s set to surprise and delight guests.
These awards follow The Darling Sydney being confirmed as the first hotel in New South Wales, and one of the few globally, to be Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED® with Forbes Travel Guide. The verification covers more than 360 standards across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience, and health safety communication with guests and team members.
