Casino advertises for Door Dwarfs as crowd control
A London casino is advertising for a team of ‘Door Dwarfs’ to supplement its security contingent.
The Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square placed the adverts, and hopes to reveal its new Door Dwarf team in December.
The Door Dwarfs will be stationed at the Hippodrome’s side entrance on Cranbourn Street, one of Europe’s busiest streets, which leads directly onto Leicester Square from Charing Cross Road.
Hippodrome Casino owner Simon Thomas said: “We wanted to add some extra spectacle to Leicester Square. “The Hippodrome is a building with a rich tradition of theatrical innovation, and a history of dwarf acts appearing here. It fits perfectly with the way we do things here – differently, with a lot of fun involved.”
The advert can be seen on page 49 of today’s Metro newspaper, and later in the Evening Standard.
