Multiple earthquakes have struck Southern California this month

Multiple earthquakes have struck Southern California this month, causing minor damage and reminding residents that large swaths of the western U.S. are susceptible to earthquakes that could cause major damage if or when they finally occur.

In Nevada, it’s not a question of if “the big one” will hit, but when. The state is the third-most seismically active state in the nation, behind California and Alaska. There are active earthquake faults in nearly every part of the state.
